LOCATION SHOTS

In this post i will be talking about the location shots we have chosen to use and why we have chose these locations, all of these locations we do not need permission to use as they are public places, that is the main reason we chose these.

this is southerndown beach that has endless possilibities whith huge cliff faces, open spaces and beautiful beaches, once we got to this location we found two location specific things that we have never seen anything like this before. we found a secret beach with a waterfall and a abandened castle with beautiful wildlife and landscapes with rivers, wells and ponds that are perfect for sillouette shots.

DAY 2 OF FILMING

In this post i will be talking about the first day we went filming, what we did, why we did it and how we did these things, here are some photos with explanations of these photos.

To start the day of filming we done our fist ever shot of the video where me and jade are sat in the car talking and acting like a cute couple, for this we used rhys' car with rhys sitting in the back seat to get the perfect angle with both of us in shot.















Here is a picture of me and jade mitting on a wall over looking the ocean which a romantic setting for a couple, in this photo you can also see rhys filiming us and taking shots using his camera and gorilla tripad for extra stablility.

This is one of the last shots of the day and in my opinion it is my favourite, with jade being on her phone and me looking down at her with a look of love, the reason this is my facvourite shot is becuase of the lighting, the dark lighting of inside the room and the bright light from outside creates a kind of sillouette where you cant see exact expressions.

CAST PROFILES

In this post I will be talking about our final decisions on our cast of actors. We had a few problems when picking our final two actors but eventually we decided on two who are more than addiquate to do what we need them to do.
JADE EVANS

• Jade is a 16 year old,
• She lives in pencoed(South Wales),
• She is an aspiring actress who has taken part in drama productions and TV adverts,
• She goes to pencoed comp so it is easy to match our time tables together and she is also available most nights,
• We asked jade why does she want to be in our music video and she said "I want to be in the video because not only is it one of my favourite songs but I will do anything to help friends and it's a bonus of it being acting as acting is my passion and it's something I love, no matter what the role is I'll do it".

ALEX NEWBOLD(me)

• I am 17 years old,
• I live in Aberkenfig(South Wales),
• I am an aspiring film producer who is studying media studies at A-level, 
• Because I am a part of the media group I am able to go whenever and wherever to film, this includes during school and after.
• The reason I am acting in the video is because I will do whatever it takes to ge the qualifications at the end of the day and I am confident in myself to give a good performance and take upon the role of the male half of the relationship.

To sum this post up our group are happy with both of these actors as they match the stereotypes of our relationship in the video because they are good actors as they aren't actually in a relationship.

PROBLEMS IN FINDING THE CORRECT CAST

When we first started our planning for the film we were set on two friends of our groups who were in a relationship, the reason we chose these two is because the best way to capture a relationship is show people who are in a relationship who are happy and in love with each other, so we decided on Casey and Rosie.

The reason we didn't end up using these two actors for our video is because they ended up breaking up and not being together so it wouldn't of worked if we kept the actors the same as it would of been awkward and tense on set. After it all though we were looking back on the actors and we realised it would've been difficult because even though it was easy to film with Casey Rosie wasn't free after school because she does a lot of extra curricular activities like netball, another reason she is busy is because she is studying a levels at a different school so we wouldn't be able to match our timetables with hers because they go off different time scales.

GROUP ROLES

In this post I will be talking about the roles that each of our members of the group took upon themselves to do and master, also I will be talking about why we decided these roles were good for not just themselves but for the group as well.
JOSH
Josh has taken upon himself to be the director for our group, as a group we agreed with this decision because we believe that josh is the most creative out of the group because he is good at brainstorming ideas and uses the trial and error technique, he does the stereotypical director jobs well making sure everyone knows what they are doing and gives his creative criticism to those people if he feels they aren't doing as well as they could be.
RHYS
Rhys decided that he wanted to be the camera man and cinematographer because Rhys has a lot of camera equipment that is better than the provided equipment, because we are using Rhys' equipment the rest of the group were more than happy to let Rhys take charge with running this equipment and being the person accountable for the equipment. Although he doesn't think of all the ideas he gives his Imput on some of the shots he wants to do because it's good to have more than one opinion.
ALEX(me)
I decided that because no one else in the group wanted to be the actor and we could not find anyone else that I would take one for the team and be the actor for our video, I did this because I know how we want our final product to be like so if I am doing it then I can do it how we want it to be, the reason the group were more than happy for me to do it is because they believe that I would be the most confident infront of the camera because I do not care about what people think about me, and although I am the actor I like to give my imput into how we can improve shots.
OLIVER
In our group Oliver was voted as the editor for our video because he is the most comfortable behind the computer and knows a lot more than the average person knows on computers, during our last project he took the reigns and led the editing with his wide range of skills even telling the teachers how to do advanced things on the software program we were using. Because the editing isn't until we have finished filming he is going to help out with the directing as it's better to have two minds instead of one.

Even though we have chose these jobs we are all going to help each other and give our thoughts on how we can change things and improve our film in all departments.

EQUIPMENT LIST

Here is a photo of all the equipment we are using for our music video, the equipment includes.

• Glide Cam (stableiser)

In my opinion the equipment we have got to use in our music video is more than adiquate to use in making our video as we have more than one kind of camera giving us different angles and more options of shots unlike most groups. Our favourite peice of equipment that we have is our drone because not many people have access to use one of these so we are going to use it to it’s greatest potential and we are going to fit as many drone shots of scenaries and location shots into our video.

TWEETING THE SINGERS OF THE SONGS

Here are some screenshots of the tweets that i sent to the singers of the song that we have chose to do, i am yet to here back from them but it was a good idea to reach out to them becuase we can get their opinion and tell us which video they prefer. Another reason i chose to get in contact with these singers is becuase if they like the work we produce it would be good to have contacts in the media industry to have as support to vouch for me.

COSTUME IDEAS

in this post i will be talking about one of the costumes and choices of clothes thaty our actors have decided to wear, they gave us a couple of options and we narrowed down the options to two outit options, here are the first outfits.

the reason we cjose these outifts for our actors is becuuse they are casual outifts to go with the audience profiles, also another reason we chose them is becuase they are nice outfits that anyone would wear so the target audience would aspire to look like these actors as a star gaze technique.

PLATFROMS AND SOCIAL MEDIA CHANNELS

PLATFORMS
YOUTUBE

we have chosen youtube to be our main platform for our music video because it is the first place people go to find music videos, also when people watch a video that they like you can get in touch with youtube and get numerous ways of advertising your videos, you can get adverts to go on screen before the videos your audience are watching, or what we aim to do is get our video in the suggest videos to watch so the viewers will be attracted to watch it.

here is a photo example of both these examples with a before video advert and a sidebar with suggested videos to watch after you have seen the video you wanted to watch.

MTV

we have also chose MTV as one of our platforms becuase it is one of the most prolific platfroms as it has been established the longest, another reason we have chose mtv is becuase people can trust the videos that are on there, if people see that our video is on there they will know to trust us as artists and will look for our other work, we will not look to advertise our video with MTV, we will just be showing our video with them as we will use social media for the advertising.

FACEBOOK & TWITTER

socail media is one of the biggest and best channels to advertise and share with other people, this will be our one and only source of advertising throught social media channels, and the reason we are doing this is becuase it is all we need, people everyday are joining these social media channels and are checking these profiles every day for new posts and updates on upcoming events and launches, all we need is atleast one post on both of these channels and we will have more than enough interest on our product.
